The news is that Uttar Pradesh’s government has prepared a probe into the scam in the State Highway Authority. Government has sent a recommendation to the Central Government regarding this.
It was revealed that from Delhi-Saharanpur to Yamunotri, the NH-57 was to be built 206 km highway. It was found that 455 crore rupees were withdrawn from the banks without making the highway.
For this purpose, in August 2011, M/s SEWU-SSY Highways Limited got the contract. It was found that neither the road was built nor any kind of land was used, but the trappers made 206 kilometer four-lane road on the paper.
This Four Lane Road was to be built on the Delhi-Saharanpur-Yamunutta Marg NH-57. Its cost was Rs 1700 crores. But the company borrowed 455 crore 48 lakh rupees loan from 14 banks for showing the construction work. This has been done by M / s SEWU-SSY Highway Limited.
This work was given to the company in time of BSP government in August 2011. The company had to complete the fore-lane in three years. The company also took a loan of around 600 crores from fourteen banks to complete the project. But only 13 percent of the work was found to be done.
In this work, the company’s expenditure of 150 crores was found, while the company had misled the banks by displaying 455 crores of road construction of the banks.
Now the CBI will investigate the biggest scam of the State Highway Authority. Of the 14 banks, 455 crores have been embezzled. Some of the banks are SBI, ICICI, Corporation Bank, Punjab and Sindh Bank, Union Bank of India, State Bank of Hyderabad.
