In the Supreme Court, a bench of five judges is hearing on Triple Talaq. To overcome this dispute, the bench of five judges who have been formed by the Supreme Court has all the different religions.

Justice Kurian Joseph Christian, RF Nariman Parsi, UU Lalit Hindu, Abdul Nazeer Muslim and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, headed by this bench, JS Khehar is a Sikh.

JS Khehar has decided that the hearing on Triple Talaq will be completed in the summer holidays. Justice Khahr is due to retire in August.

In the last two years, Muslim women have filed petitions in this case. It is said that women are being sued due to this practice and injustice is being done to them.

Triple Talaq are a Shari’a rule that gives men the right to terminate marriage by saying a talaq three times.

Chief Justice JS Khehar

Justice Khehar was born on August 28, 1952. Justice Khehar graduated from science from Government College in Chandigarh. After this, he studied LLB from Punjab University in 1977. Khehar studied LLM from this University.

In 1979, Khehar started a practice in the Punjab and Haryana High Courts. In January 1992, he became the Additional Advocate of the Punjab. On February 8, 1999, he was appointed judge in the Punjab High Court.

In 2009, he became Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court and in September 2011, he became the Judge of the Supreme Court. On January 4, 2017, Khehar became the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Justice Khehar wants to complete the hearing on Triple Talaq before his retirement. He will retire on August 28, 2017.

Justice Kurian Joseph

Justice Kurian was born on November 30, 1953 in Kerala. He studied law at Thiruvananthapuram from the Kerala Law Academy Law College. In 1977-78, he became a member of the Academic Council at the University of Kerala.

He was a Senate member of Kochi University till 1983-85. Kurian, who started the practice from the Kerala High Court since 1979, became a governmental advocate in 1987 and remained an additional General advocate from 1994-96.

In 1996, he became a Senior Lawyer, and on July 12, 2000, became the judge of the Kerala High Court.

Between 2006 and 2008, he was the president of the Kerala Judicial Academy. In 2008, he became the Chairman of Lakshadweep Legal Service Authority.

After that, he was the President of the Kerala High Court Legal Service Committee from 2006 to 2009. Justice Kurian was twice the acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

After that he was the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court from February 8, 2010 to March 7, 2013. On March 8, 2013, Justice Kurian became the judge in Supreme Court. He will retire on November 29, 2018.

Justice RF Nariman

Justice RF Nariman was born on August 13, 1956 in Mumbai. He had studied at the school’s Cathedral School, Mumbai. He studied college with the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. After this, he studied at the Faculty of Law of Delhi University.

Studied LL.M from Harvard Law of School. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court had made him senior lawyer in the Supreme Court.

To make him, Justice Venkateshlaya made amendments to the rule. Justice Nariman became Senior Lawyer in the Supreme Court in 37 years instead of 45 years. On July 7, 2014 Nariman became the Supreme Court judge.

Justice Uday Umesh Lalit

Justice Uday Umesh Lalit was born on November 9, 1957. Since 1983, Lalit started prosecution. Lalit upheld the Bombay High Court until 1985. After this, in 1986 he came to Delhi. In April 2004, he became Senior Lawyer in the Supreme Court.

In many of the lawsuits, Lalit played the role of Amicus Curiae. Lalit was made special public prosecutor for CBI in the 2G case. This was done on the order of the Supreme Court.

On August 13, 2014 he became the judge in the Supreme Court. They will retire on November 8, 2022.

Justice abdul Nazeer

Justice Abdul Nazeer was born on January 5, 1958, in Karnataka. He started the proceedings in the Karnataka High Court in 1983. Nazeer was made an additional judge in the Karnataka High Court in 2003. In September 2004, Nazeer was appointed a permanent judge in the Karnataka High Court.

He is the third judge who was not the Chief Justice of the High Court and became Justice of the Supreme Court. In February this year, Nazeer became the Supreme Court judge.
