Here’s our pick of the Yamaha bikes that are set to be launched in the year 2017.

1. Yamaha FZ25

The spy images of what is believed to be the Yamaha FZ25 have emerged on the internet a couple of times in the last few days. The motorcycle looks inspired from the Yamaha FZ15 in terms of design philosophy and looks blessed with a number of stand apart features. The upcoming Yamaha FZ25 is rumoured to be launched in India on 15th January at Buddh International Circuit (BIC). Once launched, this motorcycle will bridge the gap between Yamaha YZF-R15 and the YZF-R3.

2. Yamaha YZF-R3 Facelift

With brutal competition from rivals like KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300, speculations are that Yamaha is planning to launch an updated version of its 321cc sportbike, the YZF-R3. The bike will hopefully get an optional ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) along with some cosmetic updates. If launched, the bike is expected to be retailed with a slightly higher price tag than the existing version that is priced at INR 3.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

3. Yamaha M-Slaz aka MT-15

If things go right, Yamaha might launch the naked version of Yamaha YZF-R15 in the months to come, most probably in the next year. With the 150cc segment in India going on a high, the M-Slaz can be a worthy pick once launched in the country. The bike is expected to be launched at a price of INR 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and has no direct competition. However, considering the pricing, the bike will lock its horns with the TVS Apache RTR 200 and KTM 200 Duke.

4. Yamaha MT-03

Just like the R15 and its naked sibling, the company might plan to bring the naked version of R3 as well in the Indian market. While the company surprised the laymen at the 2016 Auto Expo by launching the MT-09, we believe that it is now time that Yamaha might be exploring an option to introduce the MT-03 in the Indian market. Once launched, the bike will have a lot of rivals waiting in the form of the upcoming BMW G310R, KTM 390 Duke and Mahindra Mojo.

5. Yamaha R15 V3.0

After much speculations about Yamaha planning to bring the updated model of its popular sportbike R15, some recent rumours suggest that the motorcycle will be finally hitting the Indian shores next year. The engine will be the same 150cc unit and the major changes will come on the cosmetic and design part. The Yamaha R15 V3.0 will be more muscular and sharp in comparison to its existing form. As far as pricing goes, expect the bike to come at a price of over INR 1.3 lakh, which is slightly higher than its existing version.
