BJP MP Varun Gandhi, questioned in the debt waiving of big industry houses and the huge economic inequality in the country and has expressed grief over the suicides of farmers in debt crisis in many states.

In a seminar on “The real meaning of justice” in the court premises on yesterday night by the Allahabad High Court Bar Association, MP from Sultanpur said, “since 2001, the all governments waved debts around Rs 3 lakh crore. Out of this, the debt of more than two lakh crore was outstanding on the top 30 industry groups in the country. Can we call it justice?

“In such a situation where more than half of the country’s resources are controlled by one percent of the country’s population, justice seems to be hollow. On the other hand, more than one-third of the population is still living below the poverty line and about 9 million children are forced to do wages to run their family.

Varun also mentioned about recent protests by farmers of Tamil Nadu on Jantar Mantar of New Delhi and highlighted their efforts for farmers in their parliamentary area. He said, “three years ago I had taken the resolution that I will not allow farmers to commit suicide in my constituency. I raised the amount of more than Rs 22 crore through funding, contributed two crore rupees from my fund and helped them by repaying loans of more than 4,000 farmers.

Former BJP General Secretary Varun Gandhi said, we should not be forgotten that India will become a ‘Great India’ only when the poorest people will get their right. Our country is not going to be great with the capital investment from abroad!
